Any woman who tells you she is totally comfortable wearing high heels 5 days a week is lying or lost the ability to feel her feet years ago. However, that fact doesn't mean that we aren't going to keep searching for a way to make our sexiest pumps wearable all week long. There are a number of sprays and creams that claim to reduce or eliminate high heel induced pain, and even workout classes and routines designed to strengthen your foot and calf muscles in the hope of getting you and those five-inch stilettos through the night in one piece. However, according to WhoWhatWear's Kat Collings the true solution is all in a simple piece of tape.
To alleviate the pain in the ball of your foot caused by most heels, simply tape your third and fourth toes, counting the big toe, together. It's that simple. As Collings points out, the reason you get pain from your heels is because they put a strain on a nerve that splits between your third and fourth toes. By taping those two toes together, you remove that strain, meaning you won't be hobbling home at the end of the day.
