I have long considered myself a friend of felines. Ever since a skinny black kitty wandered into my backyard and gave me the opportunity to seduce it with a bowl of yogurt, I have been firm in my opinion that cats make the best pets. As you can imagine, this means I have also been inundated over the past few years with countless cat-themed presents from family and friends. Once my room started to look like a cat hoarder’s paradise I decided it was time for a ban on objects expressing my kitty love. Now however, I am moving out to a new apartment and leaving my precious Jill-cat behind in the loving care of my parents, I suddenly find myself drawn to these visual reminders of the fuzzy friend I’ve loved so dearly. So when Dolce & Gabbana sent at least three cat printed pieces (not animal print, but actual images of house cats) down the runway in Milan last month I came to the inevitable conclusion that I am a crazy cat lady and I shouldn’t fight it any longer. After all, if the eternally glamorous Dolce & Gabbana woman can wear her cat filled heart on her sleeve, why can’t I?
