Patch Things Up

DIY inspired and personalized pieces have been popping up all summer from high end designers like Gucci to fast fashion standards like Topshop. Easier than embroidery or even at-home denim distressing, adding patches to your jacket, jeans, or bag is one of the best ways to get a one-of-a-kind look without the custom creation price tag. You can collect them on your travels or just stock up on patches that make you smile, and turn an old worn out piece of clothing into something you'll want to wear all summer long. One quick tip - iron on patches may start to fall off after a few washes, so sewing them along the edges (even if it's just a few stitches) will help keep your design from falling apart.
