As a kid I was always so disappointed when Halloween would turn out to be a cold or rainy day. What fun is a costume if you have to put a coat on over it? However, this Halloween ensemble takes the possibility of bad weather and makes it fabulous.

The Morton Salt Girl has been around since 1911, making her a classic and easily recognizable. Her charm and simplicity give this costume a sense of ease and comfort that Romy and Michele, for example, absolutely do not. Luckily for you, the Morton Salt Girl has an umbrella build in to her costume, providing you with a weather appropriate accessory that doesn't seem out of place. If it's proving to be an extra cold Halloween, you could also always opt for a yellow coat instead of a dress.

In order to embody such an iconic advertising figure, you'll need:
- a long sleeved, yellow coat or dress
- an umbrella (clear seems to look best)
- a container of Morton Salt (attach a strap to an empty container for a cute purse and a hands free night)
- shoes (yellow, black, or saddle shoes will do)
- optional : white tights
If you really want to get fancy, you can attach a strip of sheer, glittery fabric to the salt container to mimic the salt falling from our girl's container. Thank you Morton for giving us a bad weather friendly costume!
