Est-il vrai? Mais oui! J. Crew will be opening two stores in Paris's Marais neighborhood (one women's and one men's) along with a fifth store in London in March of 2015. After the success of J. Crew's London stores, which have been in action for just over a year, the fashion powerhouse has decided to venture into some of the chicest places of all - French women's closets.

Some have raised concern over the company's expansion, remembering the closing of a number of Japan-based J. Crew stores in 2008. There has also been some bad press regarding the prices of items overseas versus the US. Items can cost as much as 20% more in London and will likely be just as expensive in Paris. However, CEO Mickey Drexler doesn't seem concerned.
Before opening their London stores, J. Crew tested their customer base by selling through Net-a-Porter for three years. Drexler suggests that they have done just as much research on the French market, making Paris an excellent location for a brick-and-mortar store. And if J. Crew's growing collection of Paris and French themed sweaters, t-shirts, and more are any indication, this love affair is just getting started.
