It is probably fairly obvious that I love the color gray. It's my favorite neutral hue by far. While some fashionistas feel most comfortable in black on black I'm more a fan of trying other monochromatic options.
The lovely lady in gray here is rocking a monochromatic ensemble without looking boring or blasé. Her trick? Playing with textures and shapes instead of colors and patterns. The key to pulling off any neutral monochromatic outfit is to give the eye something exciting to look at. Those exciting elements usually come from fun patterns, bright or bold colors, or unusual color combinations, but here texture and feel are key. For a fall version stick to chunky sweaters with knitted patterns, bottoms with interesting folds or seams, and shoes and accessories in unexpected fabrics. Wool pumps? Go for it! Gray jeans with biker details? Absolutely yes. There's a reason so many women are drawn to neutral wardrobes - they are exciting, fun, textured, and ,most importantly, everything matches. What could be better than wardrobe full of mix and match options you don't even need to think about?
