a Pair & a Spare

Lately I've been all about DIY projects. There's something wonderful about wearing or using something you made yourself, or at least decorated yourself. For much of my DIY inspiration I turn to the blog a Pair & a Spare by Australian beauty Geneva Vanderzeil, but really her blog is so much more than just craft inspiration.

A Pair & a Spare covers everything from reconstructing thrift shop finds, to travel and packing advice, to outfit inspiration. Vanderzeil really does it all. Her light and casual tone gives her blog a sense of friendliness, like it belongs to your BFF or a girl you know. I especially love the ease and simplicity of many of her outfits and DIY projects. Another wonderful aspect of her blog is her partnership with craft supplier Wander & Hunt. On their website, she sells DIY kits and supplies to compliment her projects and makes finding supplies an absolute breeze.

Vanderzeil is constantly posting new content, making a Pair & a Spare a daily stop for me. I know I'll always find something new to try or something exciting to inspire me. Check out some of her latest DIY projects below and click to get started!

Happily Grey

My style is forever changing. Some days I like to mix things up with my leather jacket over a flawy maxi dress and some days I look like I stepped right out of a J.Crew catalog. I don't like being pigeonholed to one style inspiration, so instead I use them all. This is the reason I am particularly fond of blogger Mary Seng and her site Happily Grey.

Seng started her blog in 2013 just to have a little fun with fashion and try it out as a fashion blogger. As it turns out, she really knows what she's doing! Seng's posts show her in a variety of outfits and styles as she writes about her life and inspirations. Like me, she doesn't think it necessary to label herself with one particular fashion category and instead embraces a number of them. She dresses to please herself and no one else, giving her a unique and wonderful look all her own.

Visit Seng's website at HappilyGrey.com to get some truly original fashion inspiration. After all, how could you not love a fellow lady in gray?

Damsel in Dior

I am always on the hunt for new inspiration. Sometimes I just need someone else to show me the way to spice up my classic white button down or incorporate a sequin pencil skirt into my work wardrobe. One of the best places I've been able to find for a fresh take on fashion is the blog Damsel in Dior.

Blogger Jacey Duprie writes her posts from her home in West Hollywood, although her frequent trips to New York and abroad mean her looks are always changing and unlike many CA based bloggers, she actually posts winter looks those of us in the frigid East can wear. Her style is classic with a twist, pairing white button downs with leather skirts or bold statement necklaces. I also always appreciate her ability to mix high and low, pulling pieces from places I can actually afford. Duprie writes about her life and shares with her readers in a way that's personal without being over informative. Her adoring husband and partner in crime acts as her photographer shooting her inspired looks all over town. Their combined artistic efforts leave us with a simple chic blog that I just can't get enough of.

Check out Duprie's latest looks by visiting DamselinDior.com.
