With the promise of warmer weather just around the corner, your dreams of days spent on the beach will soon become a reality. This time however, instead of starting bikini season off with a bright red burn, make sun protection fashionable and easy with the JUNE sun-coach by Netatmo. This pretty little piece of technology can be worn as a bracelet or a brooch and tracks the wearer’s sun exposure to better help manage the sun’s effects on their skin. The JUNE jewel, designed by jewelry designer Camille Toupet, chicly conceals a UV sensor that connects wirelessly to the wearer’s smartphone with a companion app. The app provides a clear and easy way to analyze the wearer’s sun exposure throughout the day and at which points the UV is most intense. It even makes recommendations for sunscreen SPF and other helpful skin care hints based on the wearer’s skin type. The JUNE jewel is made of an alloy metal, finished in gold, gunmetal and platinum, and comes with both a leather and a silicone strap. Netatmo launched the JUNE bracelet at CES 2014 in January causing quite a stir and even winning awards for “Wearable Technology” and “Tech for a Better World.” The sun-coach will be available in the spring of 2014 and will retail for $99.
